Chapter 4 of Caged- all Rights to Eliza Jane Bout

It is a rather long chapter which may see some editing in cutting it into two chapters but here is the rough draft.
Chapter Four:
Lesh stood in front of it's bed. It was awoken early by a voice from the Din, the voice it knew belonged to the Mother, or a part of her. She was awaken briefly and was able to speak into the Sideways Path. She had screamed for help and vengeance. A screamed filled with a rage so powerful, Lesh had felt rip into it's soul. Lesh knew as it struggled to find the reality called home, that is was time to go meet the Roega and start unraveling the puzzle to release the Mother and punish those once and for all who had caged her.
Lesh also knew Oain and Her would need all the help they could get. Some of the help they got for their quest would be trying to cage the Mother once more but inside a soul cage there would be no return from. While others would be looking not to release her at all and to use all the little bits of her as soul cages to fuel their need for power. Lesh had to be there before Kamoria joined up with the Roega and HeiRo to tempt them from their path. Lesh didn't have to worry about Oarin but the HeiRo was an unknown. The Din hadn't kept track of him or couldn't, Lesh wasn't sure which it was.
Looking up at the map of Merian, Lesh knew the next place Oarin would have to be heading for was Kamoria's isle. A dangerous place for even the hardiest Slag but even more so for Oarin because Kamoria had the power of the Lex and the Empire behind him as well as him being a Blood who could condemn Oarin as a Forbidden. It was against the Punishment for a Slag to have no Marx or Master and the Roega had neither. The punishment for a Forbidden was death, thus ending any chance of the Mother being released because the HeiRo would be unable to do it in a way where the Mother would be whole once more. Kamoria wanted all of the Mother's power and to kill Her once and for all. Kamoria would act like he was working with all on the quest but Lesh knew differently and the only one it could share the truth with was Oarin.
Lesh was the one person who knew how to use the God Machine correctly. It had been taught to do so by beings from the Sideways Path, beings who spoke in the Din, beings would wanted the Mother to return to her proper place as the Mother of All. Lesh had been created for this role and the role of advisor to the Roega and HeiRo. It was a daunting role but one It had been training for all Its life.
Lesh had only been out of the Study once five yesters ago. During that time, It did the work of the Brother as the Whispers had guided. When It was done, Lesh had return home here in the Study. In the Morrow Further, It was unsure if It would ever be able to return here again Morrow Now had two Paths open to Median. One where the Mother is released and the other where the weapon would be the Mother's blood or Herself in a Soul Cage until the end of Morrow Further or the end of Median which ever came first. One path would be paradise for Median while the other path would be the end of all on this world. Lesh still wasn't sure which one would be better for the world but it wasn't Its choice to make. The task given to Lesh was to make sure one path was taken, no matter the cost to It or others.
“Ish, may I walk ya to yar carrier?” A spawnling Slag who had been recently assigned to the Study had Its head bowed down past its middle in respect. Toba as it like to be addressed had yet to decide what its gender or lack of would be had all the makings of a Blood. Something, Lesh hoped would not happen but had no power to stop. Toba's natural abliity to create and control Rage would be corrupted with the Blood's use of magic. Toba as It stood in front of Lesh would exist no longer, It wouldn't even accept being part of the Slag, It would become a Lone and Its only family would be Its master, most likely one of the Damned. Maybe it might become a partner to a Lex, thus keeping the Blood Lust away but Lesh feared this would not be so. Because Lexes even those willing to work with Bloods, saw Bloods especially ones who were Slag spawn were abominations to the Lexigisie, the sacred teachings of the Lex.
“Yes, Toba, ya may. I to the carrier in Morrow.” Toba took the one extra bag Lesh had packed with Its maps, scrolls and objects which may be of use at some time. The Gathering of Trust, those who either saw, hear or felt the Sideways Path in the form of the Din here at the Study wanted Lesh first not to go, then to take at least a Drop of Blood, one of the formidable guards who have been protecting the Study since Morrow Then. The Lexes were the judges of justice but the Blood were the protectors. Lesh had informed the Gathering It didn't need the protection of any one besides Naggon, Its Slag who had been with It since they were both spawnlings. Lesh knew what was down It's path in the Morrow Now Further. There was only going to be certain being traveling with Lesh and it wasn't any of the Gathering's Bloods or Lex.
Unknown to the Trust, Lesh would be traveling to Kamoria's Isle. Many beings didn't understand Kamoria was very old. He had been there when the Mother had been caged and punished for that even though it really wasn't his fault as a BloodWave. Kamoria was very dangerous and had a huge role in all that had been happening and what will be happening. Lesh only got little parts of the story of Morrow Now Further, so It wasn't sure why Kamoria wasn't out and about or why he was staying on his isle but what ever the reason, Lesh needed to head in that direction. Lesh could only guess it was to meet up with Kamoria but the path could be changed.
For Lesh's part, It didn't really want to meet up with Kamoria or to engage him in any way. Lesh had met Kamoris once before when Lesh was just becoming into Its own power. The Din had directed Lesh to save two ewns from Kamoria. Two spawnlings who would be needed in the Morrow Now Further. At the time Lesh didn't know who the spawnlings were but now It knew who they had become. Oarin and Falen.
Lesh at this time was still seen as an Empti, a worthless drain on resources if not for Jayin. Jayin was a Tyncle. Jayin had appeared at the Study the day Lesh was born and though every Lanar at the Study had tried to capture or correhse her, Jayin picked Lesh. So Lesh was allowed to stay at the Study. It was till may yesters later, that the Trust realized Lesh was a Body, a rare being who could hear, see, feel, touch and walk the Sideways Path, making It as valuable if not more to the Trust than Jayin. Together they were worth their weight in Evian Fluid.
Kamoria would have been just as sought after if more at the Study had known, he was one of the mythical Teeth who were there when the Mother was caged. It was him, the Din had watched as the Mother's Soul was pulled from Her Body and time seemed to stop, hanging in existance like a huge heavy water cloud waiting to dump all it contents. Then, boom, an explosion which had no sound but shot through every being and every soul cage near it, as the Mother discovered Her physical death, as pieces of Her shattered and scattered throguh the world seeking a physical body to reside in. All the Bodies, including Brains, Eyes, Ears and Mouths of the Caputa and the Study were turned to ash on the spot.
Lesh wasn't born then but through the Din, It had learned what the Study only suspected. Tyncles were those who had been in the various Soul Cages created since before Kamoria was born in the Morrow Then. Thus explaining why every Lanar( those who came and stayed to become part of the Study) wanted a Tyncle. The thing with Tyncles was they chose who they wanted to be with. Some times they would pick one bond and stay with them, or a city, or a tree or a being like Jayin did with Lesh. Tyncles could go to the Sideways Path. Jayin told Lesh and It had see it that a great many of them did go to the Sideways Path and through it to the other worlds the Mother had created. Lesh knew some were with the Brother as well. But there were still a great many who had stay here on Median.
Jayin without Lesh ever asking, told It who she had been before becoming being put into a Soul Cage. She had been a powerful Silver, one who could link her seed to the First Leader of the Quazie. A Dahl directly related to the All Mother. Lesh had felt a bit overwhelmed, as It offten did roaming the Sideways Path and knowing the All Mother had not created the Sideways Path but had learn to walk it just as Lesh did. It had also learn from both the Din and walking upon the Sideways Path: There were other worlds the All Mother had created and many of them were in chaos. The Mother had a bond and some of Her Bondlings were on their way to either destroy all of Her worlds or destoy Median and release the Mother. It was the Brother who had created Lesh and explain what may happen in the Morrow Now Further. Lesh had to do everything in Its power to keep that from happening.
Because of the All Mother being caged and punishing all who had been near the God Machine, it wasn't until the Hope Yesters of Morrow Then that those who were able to contact or be contacted by the Din and/or the Sideways Path began to be born again. And Lesh was the first to be a Body contained in one being's physical form. Lesh waa about 36 yesters at this time.
Lesh had been born in the Calm Now in the Morrow Now. Its spawner had one light looked up into the sky and dropped all she was doing to make her way to the Study. Upon reaching the Outer Yard of the Study pregant and ready to give birth, introduced herself and said she was to have a spawn of a being of the Din. At first Lanar Joffary had laughed until Tyncles began to appear around her pushing her toward Joffary. Upon question Mila explained a being had walked out of the air all cloaked in Whispers and Tyncles and had placed Its head near her belly and blew on it. It then disappeared as the Whispers and Tyncles just flew away. At this time at the Study there was only two Brains, Four Eyes and Ears and no Mouths.
The birthing was very difficult for Mila due to Lesh's head being too big. She said, the spawn was to have the name Lesh and as the Birther held up Lesh, Jayin flew in and wrapped her long body around Lesh because the Birther was going to kill the spawn for it looked deformed. Lesh started out Its life screaming because unknown to all at the Study, It had been a full grown being in the Sideways Path who had volunteered to be put into a spawn body to help the Mother.. Lesh's body on Median was like a Soul Cage craeated by the Brother, who could not come to Median because of the safeguards place on all of the Mother's created worlds. The Brother loved his bondling, the Mother as her worlds know her , Dahl Da' Love. It was this love which caused Lesh to come to Median via the Sideways Path and put Its soul into Mila. It would never be able to return to Its old body (better than it now body) but it was a small scarfice to help bring the Mother back. But the pain of transfering was great and Lesh could still feel Its old existance in the Sideways Path so all It did for about five yesters was scream. Jayin spoke for It till one day at mid light meal, It stopped and saked for more food. After that Lesh could speak like other beings at the Study but five yesters of screaming had taken its toll on Mila and others at the Study so that few liked Lesh. Only after It showed it was a Body, did the Study begin to want to listen to Lesh.
Lesh's body was like a squsahed being. Part of the reason was how large Lesh's old body had been and the soul was used to such a big container and it had to squah its soul into a smaller size which reflected in the physical form. This is true of Tyncles which is why one ceratin parts of their souls and memories existed in a Tyncle form. Some Tyncles were in larger physcial forms but others were not. There was no rule to explain why this was but some Lanars discussed it in great legnth. Examples were written up and bounded into books on the subjects. All thoughts became Examples until they were Truth. It was the path all Lanars took an oath to; To find the Truth and share it to the world. But there were many Examples, whole rooms filled with books of Examples but very little Truths. Only recently because of Lesh did the Sideways Path become a Truth even though there had been others before It who could make an Example of it.
Jayin broke Lesh's wandering down Morrow Now yesters by suddenly flying around his head. 'Hurry. I am sick of being here. I want to fly further.' Lesh nodded. It still didn't understand why Jayin refused to leave Lesh's side when she loved to travel so much. Lesh didn't really like to travel much, it hurt this form. Just thinking about the last time It had left and how much traveling it had done almost made Lesh flinch in pain.
Lesh knew It would have never been able to steal one ewn much less two from Kamoria but the Din had sent another Tyncle, a much more powerful one. Pau. As Lesh had come up to Kamoria in Rimmer outside of the main city, Pihlun on Trume. Pau jumped out of the bushes and scooped up an ewn into its mouth while pushing one about five yesters toward Lesh. Lesh had taken the ewn's hand and pulled him into the jungle followed by Pau. Lesh followed Jayin into the jungle. They traveled in there for about 10 lights til they reached the Steps of Light, an acienct set of stairs leading up to the inner rim of Trume. There they found a sliser who was intriqued by the Tyncles. Aboard this slise was a Lone who Lesh and Pau convinced to take the youngest spawn with him. Paja agreed. They parted ways as Lesh and Pau headed to Krilen. Lesh could only believe that Pau had used some kind of Vie to keep Kamoria from finding them. Very powerful Vie making Lesh wonder just exactly who Pau had been before he became a Tyncle. The size of Pau also spoke of how much Vie he was able to channel.
As Lesh went down the steps from Its tower room, It took special care to notice and remember the only home It had ever had. Mila had had no desire to raise It, so she gave it to the Study and it was only because of Jayin, that Lesh was allowed to stay but that didn't matter to Lesh. The Study was home. All of it walls, floors, gardens and rooms were well known to Lesh and held various memories both good and bad flavored with sorrow, pain and happiness as all homes should. It held the echos of relationships which wove together to create the Lesh who was now leaving this piece of Its self behind. Jayin and even Naggon didn't really understand. To make things a bit more complicated, Lesh hadn't informed the Trust or any of the Lanars hee at the Study, that Lesh wouldn't be coming back after this trip. The Din had warned Lesh there was beings within the Trust and the Study who would like to keep Lesh from helping the Mother.
The Trust had a hard time letting go because Lesh was too valuable as a Body to be allowed to roam the world. There were dangerous beings who didn't care about the Mother, or the work the Study did, so passage wasn't always granted if one met a Ripper. Rippers would sell one of their own , even a Lex and most especially a being like Lesh. Or they might keep Lesh as a pet. The Study and the Lanars didn't understand that within their own number there were beings who they should fear worse than the Rippers. Lesh had so far been able to outwit or with Jayin's help evade the Bliss Riders who were mentally deragned as well as dangerous physically. It was Lesh's hope It would coninued to evade them till It found Oarin. Most Rippers would stay as far away from Slags as possible, maybe because some of their crews were made up of Lones and they didn't want to fight their own bonds or the Roega. Lesh being part Slag in looks was sure It could use that to Its advantage as well if It was ever to meet a Ripper. Though it is possible Ripper's would so know Lesh only looked like one.
Lesh didn't move with the natural grace of the natural born killers Slags had. Even though It had been trained to protect Its self, It still didn't have the body language to inspire fear or even threat. But with Jayin curled around Its arm, many beings and creatures let Lesh pass without fear of being attacked. Though it could be Lesh's appearance which caused them to think about attacking, at least when it came to beings. Lesh had long clear hair. Hair so pale it was almost invisible except when the light caught it. Silver with out color, a sign of being touched by the Mother or the Sideways Path. Myth stated a spawnling's soul exposed to traveling the Sideways Path produced a mute, blind and unresponsive being with hairs so pale silver, a being could see through it like looking through a foggy valley. Eyes white upon white with a ring of black around the pupil and red centers ( better to see the Sideways Path). Slags were of silver hair and silver/ blue eyes the color of the Bliss or purple/silver like the sky. Lesh shared the silver skin of Slags, a genetic marker created by the Quazies as a way to tell the differences between the Master and the Slave, Light and lighter. Lesh had skin so pale one could see Its blood lines and Its lips, palms and bottom of Its feet were deep, dark earthy brown with a purple tinge. Ears which seem to big for Its head( better to hear the Din). Lesh's face was large with small features except its mouth which seemed over large with large full lips and filled with shapr pointy teeth and a long tongue( better to speak all the sounds of the Din) and Its head seem larger than Its body. This had been a problem when Lesh was younger but now Its neck and body had thicken to hold the head up. Lesh was shorter than any mature beings and many spawnlings were taller than It. It had round, short legs which only bent at the hips giving It a strange swaying walk. Hands and feet were large and stood out as out of place on a mismatched body. Lesh knew it had been created in the Sideways Path as a way to defeat Kamoria's plan but It had only a vague sense of the body It had had before the Brother had changed him.
'Wake up and move faster.' A though lasted through the Din towards Lesh. Lesh responded with a though filled with sadness and patience.
'Jayin, I am looking at things one last time, say farewell to familiar objects. Please we will not be returning here and I see it as home.' Jayin could make the head tilt to indicate ' if you say so but I don't understand why', she would have instead, she thought back.
' Good, I am glad we will leave this place behind, so move along little Lesh.' Jayin had always hated the Study and the Trust even more. Tyncles were all of the bad or good of the being they once were and Jayin was good to Lesh but very bad to all others. She knew what she needed to do and she loved Lesh for what It once was and waited egarley for the day, Lesh would be returned to Its true body in the Sideways Path. Lesh knew Jayin was hoping to get a new humanoid body as well and they would spend the rest of Morrow Now Further together in Sideways Path. Lesh just didn't know if the Mother would grand Jayin's wish when it was Jayin or someone she knew who may have trapped the Mother in the first place. Jayin had suggested she had been there with Kamoria but whether that mean in a biped form or as a soul in a Soul Cage. Lesh had tried to find out more over their time together but she refused to answer with a direct truth. So Lesh just listen to her and hope she would give clues to who she had once been. Only then would It know if the Mother would reward or further punish her.
Lesh knew that some Tyncles were still trying to continue the work they had been tasked with so long ago in the Morrow Then before the Mother had been caged. Some of them were with Kamoria, some with the damned and some on their own just making things difficult for the rest of them. Oarin would have to beware of any of those Tyncles because they would undo any good work Oarin accomplish in the course of freeing the Mother. Power was adictive and aparently Tyncles were not immune. Sounds and stories of their lust for power echoed in the Din.
The Din was the sound or echos of voices of the Sideways Path and all the Worlds connected to it. There were many, many worlds, though only a few could be heard from Median. When the Mother had created her own pocket universe, she had made sure the Sideways Path was as accessable from it. But once she caged, the existance she had escaped from was closing in to swallow up all the worlds she had created. The Din could be deafening to some unless an Ear or a Brain was listening in. Some beings could lack the talent to interpate the Din but still hear it. Lesh had to learn to sort out all the sensory information It swallowed up in every movement in Morrow Now and the yesters of Its life. Which is why Lesh had only sceamed for the first five yesters of his spawnling life. If Jayin hadn't been there to teach him, he would have drwoned in the sensory flood to become a shell of a being. Causing the Trust to kill It and study it piece by piece.
The Trust deferred to Jayin and assigned a Slag to protect Lesh. Naggon was very young when she decided she wante dto be a Frai, a non breeder. Almost all of her bond had been killed in a dispute over land in Magin, leaving her and her sister. Her sister took over as the bond Mother and began to look for the perfect seeds to create a strong bond to replace the one they were originally part of. Following the Punishment and needing funds to start a bond, Naggon agreed to be the slave. She was presented to the Trust a few lights before Lesh was born. She had been told to guard Lesh's mother till she gave birth. Naggon had lost hope and lost belief in the Mother about this time and was thinking of becoming a Lone. She changed her mind upon meeting Jayin who infomed Naggon of her connection with the Whispers and the Mother. Still Naggon had withheld devotion until the day they had stolen two ewns from Kamoria. The Whispers directed Naggon, Lesha nd Jayin to the secret city of the Roeganians, the keepers of the Punishment and Forgiven.
The Whispers had let all three of them know (Lesh was sure Jayin had already known) the Mother knew them as friends and part of her blood. When Naggon met the Roeganians and was sworn under the Oath of the Forgiven, she understood her place in the large scheme of things and devoted all her energy in keeping Lesh safe. She loved Lesh in so many ways. Some the same as Jayin and some only in the way of the Slag. Lesh was glad of her love and if any should be rewarded at the end of this task, It felt it should be Naggon., who was mother, sister, friend and lover to Lesh.
Pulling Itself from the flowing of yesters, Lesh stepped off the last stair to be greeted by Naggon with a nod, an agreement between them from early on, she didn't have to treat It as Master except around others to whom it mattered. Hovering over her head was Jayin with a Dinier look. Dinier's were the inhabitants of the Din and some were very vicious. Jayin had a certain look that could be translated into she was going to do something not nice, thus Lesh called it her Dinier look. Jayin was eager to be gone from this place. Part of the reason was the Trust but she also wanted to see Oarin and Pau.
Lesh could understand why even as a spawling Oarin had been a very powerful being. In the Morrow Then, Oarin would have been seen as one who had received the Mother's Kiss which meant he had been bestowed with natural talents which included the handling of Vie in the form of Battle Rage. Lesh knew it was because of Oarin, that they had all made it to Dahl's Hauce. Because of Oarin and Pau. Jayin was powerful and Naggon strong but they would have never made it all the way to the hidden and unknown part of the old land, Exitium. Hidden behind Jagged Wall to keep all beings away. It was the land where the Rattaysha hid from the Mother's Whispers, where the Damned planned their version of talking over the Sideways Path or at least this world. Where Oarin's first bond had been, where the old soul cage machines laid under layers and layser of earth caused by the caging of the Mother. It was the land upon which the Mother first created land, beings and all things living.
“Ish Lesh, are ya ready?” Lanar Mecc must be the other reason for Jayin looking as she did. She didn't like, well hated would be a better word for how she felt about this being. “We will miss ya and myself must speak once again with wariness about yar leaving.” Lanar Mecc was in his Grey Fabric, ceremonial ones with silver trims. Lesh knew, the Gathering of Trust didn't want to let Lesh go but Lesh was a being who didn't belong to ayone but the Sideways Path. Even though many of the Lanars didn't want to let Lesh go, many others wanted It gone because It was a constant reminder of things of which they refused to believe were true. They believed It was just a sad Slag which should have been killed at birth. Slags kill unhealthy spawnlings due to the harsh life they live.
Part of the Study didn't believe any longer in the Mother, some even beginning to follow the idea there was only a Father not understanding the Mother wasn't in a literal but rather a logical sense a caetaker. Having a father would make sense but for Ddahl Da' Love created Median and other worlds by herself, while the Sideways Path was created by her people. She had a bond out beyond the concept of reality and most surly there was a Father. It was that ideal that the Lanars were leaning towards if there was any kind of being watching over the world but most just believed life was just governed by life and death. By Morrow, the flow of time. It made no sense to Lesh because the Study and the Trust had Ears which listen to the Din. Surly they understood the Mother existed and needed their help. Lesh had given up long ago trying to get those who refused to listen and think to listen and think. But none of that changed the fact of how the Study and the Trust wanted to use It for their own use.
During the Lanaring times over and over during between light and dark meals, Lesh had given Speaks about the subjet “ How did the Punishment come to be if there was no Mother”. Topics introduce were always along that line. Why are the Slag being punished if there was no Caging? Or the fact there once was the Quazie and their machines. The world once look different before the Quazie's began to work on caging the Mother. What were the Dark Yester all about if there was no Mother. But many Lanars refused to even thing about these truths, even though that was what the Study had been created to do, find and teach about truth. Instead over the yesters, slowly the line was being drawn and if the Mother wasn't realesed, there would be war for Median and no Mother to fix the problems created afterwards. Median would die, maybe slowly but it would die. The war of the world was the event the HeiRo was to help stop. Oarin was created to realse the Mother but the HeiRo was created to bring the world together to move into the Morrow Further.
“Ish Lesh, ya are most truly needed her. The Trusth wante dme to beg, once more. The Body can not lose one as talented as ya.” Mecc tried to look both needing and friendly something he wasn't very good at. He was one of those who didn't believe in the Mother and wasn't in any way connected to the Sideways Path and most definitely didn't believe in Lesh. Sadly and frightfully for the Trust and the Study, Lanar Mecc was very quickly moving his way up the step of the steps of the Gathering of Trust in which he had removed those who did believe in Lesh, the Mother and the Sideways Path. Lanar Mecc believed (so the Din stated from Mecc's own thoughts) it was important to have only logic in place of the knowledge owned by the Lanar.
Lanars gathered knowledge then wrote out the steps doing things, creating and changing things and idea to think about. Beings from all over the world, came to buy the information. Lanars wandering the world gathering information also sold the “Knowledge Sheets” Every ting form how to grow food to making songs was in the Chambers of Lanars and could be shared with anyone for a price. Many of the servants within the Study were working off the buying of the Knowledge Sheets. If an more information was gather, a being could come and get and extension on their Sheet. There were many Lanars who just wrote their whole lives.
Lesh knew Lanar Mecc wanted to increase the cost of knowledge and obtaining it as well as keeping some knowledge only for the Study and Mecc's supporters. Already there was the Hoard of Trust, in which dangerous knowledge was kept. Knowledge about Soul Cages and the God Machine were kept there and only the Skler was allowed to enter. It was that position that Mecc wanted and Lesh knew he wanted it bad. Sometime Lesh felt there was another being from the Sideways Path, some one other than the Brother who was sending information to the Trust, someone who wanted the Mother caged as well. Who that might be even the Din wasn't giving up at this time or didn't know. Either way it didn't matter to Lesh much at this time.
Lesh wondered if Lanar Mecc knew. Mecc was the bondling of Emperial Desnet D'shavvil Se Nachoon De Dalshare and all knew the Emperial Magin was very interested in power. Whispers had been repeating pieces of spoken words about or from Magin wanting to be the holder of all the power. Lesh didn't understand why. How much power did one being really need? This was a question also explored in the Trust long ago but stopped when Lanar Mecc began his rise within it. Lesh feared Lanar Mecc in power would be make the world a dangerous place to live and there would be no escape to the Sideways Path.
Lesh waited till Lanar Mecc was done with his pretend pleading and looked up at Mecc, smiled and said” Pardon, Lanar Mecc.” Lesh saw the twitch of the Lanar's brows, a sing the Lanar was displease with Lesh's interuption to Mecc performance. All the fake cheer leached out of the Lanar's eyes even though his mouth kept the smile. Lesh continued, “The Mother has a path for me and staying here at the Study isn't it.” Lesh saw Mecc clenched jaw ever so slightly at the word 'Mother'. Lesh knew Lanar Mecc disliked Lesh ever since Mecc had arrived at the Study, in fact Mecc had tried over and over again to have Lesh sent to Magin to “ be examin by the Dowellers of the Emperial Desent and his bond. But LanarHaugh, who ran the Study, had refused over and over to Mecc's anger. But now Lanar Haugh was ill and it would only be a matter of time before Mecc could do as he wanted within both the Study and the Trust. The sooner Lesh was gone from here the better. Mecc saw Lesh as a double curse because Lesh was a Body and was treated better than Mecc and carried power above Mecc's, something which ate at Mecc. Arrogance was wron like a clock amoung the Empiral Bonds and all who claimed bond with them.
After a brief pause, Lanar Mecc said “Had to try as ordered by the Trust. I thought ya would tell, a tale of the Mother ordering ya about.” Lanar Mecc's body lanugage seemed to get stiffer causing Naggon to move forward with her head bowed. Lanar Mecc seemed to barely move to greet her but Naggon would not stop moving until she was in front of Lesh creating a threat and insult even while following rank protocol even though Mecc wasn't. Lanar Mecc stopped movin at the arch of the Doorway of the Study. Jayin had decided at that time to make a swoop landing past Mecc's nose to Naggon's shoulder.
Lanar Mecc stepped back just a bit but it was enough to cause him to loose stance. To lose stance to one such as Naggon and/or Lesh could cause Mecc to try to find a way down into Morrow Further to redeem himself. Lesh truly hope not. But the Din wasn't sharing if something like that had been seen, so Lesh wasn't going to worry about it. Instead Lesh tapped Naggon to move ahead but was stopped by Lanar Mecc's voice and words.
“ The Trust doesn't feel well over this path, so.....” Lanar Mecc truned to the his laff toward the leff inner yard. Lesh followed with It's eyes to see a Blood standing in the opening. Even though the Din had whispered this might have been a possiblity in the flow of Morrow it had seem less than a possiblity. The Din always spoke in the possible but some events were more certain than others. It had to do with all things involved. Less involved meant more certainity. Lesh had been hoping this event would have been less certain.
…...Blood Lyr, will be there to quard and assist.” Naggon tilted her head ever so slightly and slowly to view the Blood. Lesh knew as did Naggon this was a BloodWave, a cross between the three deadly orders; Blood, Teeth and Lex. It was a rare thing to see a Tooth but a BloodWave was so rare Lesh was wondering if being was faking or acting as one to scare Lesh. But the Din had warned a long time ago when the Whispers had helped Lesh find Oarin that there might be other factions involved including a BloodWave. Now looking at the helm the being was wearing, Lesh felt chill both of thrill from a body destroyed to make this one and the fear of the body It know owned.
What Lesh knew of BloodWaves was from Morrow Then. The last known BloodWave was Karmoria. The essence and Vie of Bloods were corrupt but the essence of a BloodWave was madness. The Vie needed to create the Blood Force had to come from those killed in fear, slowness and unawareness. Waves of the soul slowly dying by a sneaky and ungiven death was were the power came from. Waves could be physical drainning of blood or the drain of Vie. These waves were then turned into powerful attacks or Vie to be use as the killer wished. It was a horrific way to die and have one's soul torn apart. Sometimes a BloodWave would used the soul to trap it in a cage where it would be force to “shed for long periods of time.” The madness came from the BloodWave having first been taught to be a Lex, a being who used no violence upon another then was forced to learn to use violence not only to protect but to kill.
Lesh was worried about Oarin. It didn't know if a Roega could take on a BloodWave or not. Lesh hadn't been able to counsel with the Roegaians about the possiblity of a BloodWave because the Din had warned against it. Lesh still was unsure why. In fact Lesh could tell no one about the BloodWave till the BloodWave had become a sure thing in the Morrow Now. The knowledge sheet about BloodWaves said it was impossible for any to be trained since the last one had disappeared in the Morrow Then but that was because few knew that Kamoria was still alive or about the Damned.
Before Lesh could bow to establish higher rank, the BloodWaved bowed, leaving no doubt who had the most stance. This didn't predict good things for Lesh and his merry bond. To make matters worse, Lesh caught an insultive twich gesteure from Naggon and a “Humph” cough from Jayin. Before Lesh could speak, the BloodWave spoke in a musical sway of the Emperail beings. “Cechia, ya and bonds may address me. Stance doesn't mean power with us.” An armored hand swept towards Lesh with a gesture to include Naggon and Jayin. The 'us' was how Emperial bondlings and their bonds talked about themselves even if only one was in the area. Lesh already knew who she was before her name, the Din had shared it with him. Emperial Spawn, the youngest of Emperial Nachoon. Connected to Dahlevilla, the hidden and largely unknown leader of the Damned. Lesh knew of the Damned once again because of the being It had once been in the Sideways Path and because of the Brother. The Damned were the orginal Quazies who had caged the Mother and had been frozen in time. Not like Karmoria who was able to walk amoung the living but rather souls caged within non cages. They had continued to dictate from their unliving cages to the Rattaysha who had escape the Mother but were basically imprisoned on Exitium. They wanted the Mother recaged but in the God Machine so they could control her power. This was one of the reason “Cechia” was so dangerous. But all the players had their part to play in this Morrow Now play.
Lesh bowed befroe the BloodWave in her Quazian armoor tempered with evian Fluid, a prize worth more in the Morrow Now than it ever was in the Morrow Then. There were beings like Rippers who would try to take on a BloodWave even an Emperial Spawn to earn the right to wear such armor. But if the Din was correct and it was, the armor would kill any who tried to wear it if they were not trained as a BloodWave. It was the armor which linked her to the Damned, more than her being a BloodWave. Only the Damned had toys from Morrow Then Quazies made by Slags and Quazies alike. Once again Lesh felt a chill. This one because Cechia was bondling to Lanar Mecc who could also have things the Damned may or may not own.
“BloodWave Lyr, Cechia, the Ish before ya is Lesh” Lesh bowed at Naggon's voice, “I, Naggon, slave to Lesh and answer only to Ish.” Naggon bowed again deeper to rank even though Cechia had excuse it. It was a Slag way to insult by disregarding commands whenever possible from ones deem less than worthy of Slag respect. “Jayin also protects and works with Ish Lesh” Jayin refused to look to Cechia which could be because of the armor or just because she was Jayin. This could be taken as an insult as well. Since the helm made it nearly impossible for Lesh to see Cechia's eyes, It had no way of knowing if Seh Lyr felt lack of stance thus requiring Lesh to punish both Naggon and Jayin. Lesh would have refused and taken the punishment upon itself since BloodWave had started stance war.
Instead there was a pause before Seh Lyr continued so Seh knew Seh had lost stance but decided to ignore it. Not a good way to start a journey. “Shall all move to the carraiage” spoke Cechia as Seh turned to Lanar Mecc. “Till the Path joins us together againa nd the Sideways path opens to all,” Then BloodWave Lyr moved past Lanar Mecc with grace and silence an extrodianay event wearing armor. Lesh saw her Hart was sheilded on her back. The use of a Hart was another well quarded secret know only to Morrow Then. Even Karmoria didn't use on or wear on anymore. Lesh followed her without another word to Lancer Mecc
