Greetings All, today I took some classes (online of course) on Blender at CGcookie.com.  Check it out, it is free.  You can pay for a membership and get lots of extras but for us poor foxes, free is always good.
I sometimes have good attention to detail and at other times I tend to miss the obvious.  For example. It took me all day to figure out how to change the user preferences to use a two button mouse vs a 3 button mouse, only because two was all I had.  Then it mess with my mouse's moves on everything, so I had to figure out what happen.
I can't follow the videos on using templates because I didn't understand what I was looking at and I got stuck trying to change my name from the word"name".  Normally I am sure many people would get frustrated with how my brain works but I just keep trying.  I am pretty good with software, I just have to find my 'Rosette Stone', the one command which lets my brain understand how the program works.  I will soon be able to teach others how to use it once I use it over and over.  My brain is great at teaching things. So if you have had problems learning something drop me a comment or email and maybe I can help you. Or find a examples of what you want to learn.
Here is how I learn new software.  I open the software and go through it with the lessons I can either find for free or glean from videos or other web sites.  I am a hands on kind of fox, so I have to do it while someone tells me something or while I am reading something.  My suggest to you is if you are having a hard time learning something, try change how you are getting the info.  I can't wait for the days when we can download information directly to our brains.  How about you?
